Gojira
Contemporary heavy with ecological/epic breath: groove, mass, clear guitar character.
WHAT / WHO
A careful neighbouring modern-heavy shelf for some The Materials listeners — not a djent label and not influence.
Gojira shows how heaviness can be bodily and “large” without progressive display. Overlap with Nailmark is possible only at the level of listener taste for contemporary heaviness.
